1) Owners, employees, or anyone with with a vested interested in, or receiving compensation from any recording program are strictly forbidden from:

a) using recordingschoolforum.com to promote any business, program or event associated with the recording school or program. If you want to promote your institution or event, contact us about banner ads.

b) making any post related to their respective program or institution without full disclosure of their relationship in their signature file and verifiable contact info in their user profile.

c) making any negative comments about a compete program or discussing how their program differs from any of their competitors.

d) using recordingschoolforum.com private messaging for promotion or recruit students or clients

e) participating in discussions about their respective program or institution, except to answer specific objective questions. For instance it is permitted to respond to a questions such as "Does Jo Bob's Recording School have an SSL console in their mixing lab?" but not permitted to respond to a question such as "Is additional mix lab fee worth the extra expense?"

2) It is not permitted to make accusations about any institution or program that could be interpreted as criminal with out verifiable support of that claim. for example you are permitted to say "Jo Bob's Recording school sucks and it was a waste of my money" but you are not allowed to say "Jo Bob's Recording School stole my money".

3) This forum exists to assist people in making decisions about what might be one of the biggest investments of their life. While the good and bad of recording schools is often a controversial topic, and it is expected that peoples posts and opinions will reflect that, post that seem posted only to insight controversy without providing helpful perspective will be deleted.

you also agree not to be a jerk and promise to be nice, even to people you completely disagree with. If you want to get into nasty fights, there are plenty of other places on the net for that.

4) By participating on this forum you acknowledge that you understand recordingschoolforum.com is not a democracy. The moderators may, and will, delete posts and accounts that are deemed counter to the goal of recordingschoolforum.com being an honest and unbiased source of information and exchange of ideas.

5) recordingschoolforum.com is a place to share ideas and information about recording schools. If you want to chat about gear or recording techniques we suggest you sign up for an account on gearslutz.com (http://www.gearslutz.com/)

FYI: recordingschoolforum.com was founded by Producer-Mixer Ronan Chris Murphy. He owns a business called Home Recording Boot Camp, which conceivably could be considered a competitive service to some recording schools. He is bound bound by the same rules as everyone else.
